reunions. Name in reunion history was John. Death certificate of Horace Greenberry Tollison shows fathers name as William.
17. Lucinda
GENERAL: From Tollison Family History compiled during reunions. The name of
this spouse is circumstantial. The 1885 census record of Kosciusko, MS shows a
Lucinda Tollison having three sons Ed, 1865, John, 1871 and H. G. 1873. This
info. fits with the family lore of John Tollison and wife having 3 sons with
these names and birth years with the family being in Winona MS in 1873 shortly
after John's death.DEATH: She died when Horace was 3 years old.
GENERAL: From Tollison Family History compiled during annual reunions. He
supposed died shortly after his daughter's marriage in 1873. All children of Duff are
assumed to be from the same marriage.CENSUS: shows T.M. Richardson, matching known facts (T could be an L). Everything points to him being alive after 1880. Assuming that D.L. is his son, then death would be after 1888.
GENERAL: From info. gathered by her grandsons Tot and Vernon Tollison during
visit to Austin Tx in July, 1976. The obtained a copy of her Birth
Certificate and purchased a headstone for her grave. Her name was Sarah but
she went by Sallie. She was in the Confederate Home for Women in Austin Texas
at the time of her death.

OBITUARY: John Franklin Leak, the subject of this sketch, was born in Sumner
county, Tenn., Dec. 12, 1853, departed this life at his home in Hickory Creek,
Benton county, Ark., Sunday, March 31, 1929; at the time of his departure he
was 75 years 3 months and 18 days of age.
At the age of 23 he was married to Miss Mary Sigmon. To this union were
born 9 children, 7 sons and 2 daughters, 8 of whom survive, one son having died
in infancy. Those surviving are, his wife, Mrs. Mary Sigmon Leak, and Miss
Lula Leak of the home address; Henry of Christie, Okla.; Sam of Springdale,
Ark.; Will of Tulsa, Okla., Garland of Oklahoma City; Virgil of Oklahoma City;
Marion of Hickory Creek, and Mrs. Sarah Earlabaugh of Sparks, Okla., and a host
of other relatives and friends....

During his last illness, which lasted over a period of months,....
Mr. Leak's large family of children were all present at the funeral services
which were conducted Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p. m. Interment was made in
Hickory Creek cementery.[Complete obituary was very flowery but well written. Too long to include

OBITUARY:
Springdale News, Springdale Ark. Jan, 1936"Aunt Mary" Leak passed away Jan. 14 at the home of a son and
daughter, Will and Lula Leak, in Tulsa, Okla. She was laid to rest beside her
husband in the cemetery at this place, Jan. 16.
Aunt Mary and Uncle John had made this place their home for almost half a
century. After his death on Easter Sunday, 1929, she had made her home with
her children, spending most of her time in Tulsa and with Marion at this place.
She became seriously ill with pneumonia on Wednesday, Jan. 8. The children
were all with her Sunday before her death. Most of them returned to their
homes thinking she was better.
The body was brought to this place by an ambulance from Tulsa. The funeral
services were conducted by Rev. W. R. Belew of Muberry, Ark., assisted by a
minister from Tulsa.
Aunt Mary leaves to mourn her loss eight chidren, several grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, one half-brother, besides a host of
other relatives and friends. the children, all of whom were present at the
funeral, are: Henry Leak and family, of Christie, Okla., Mrs. Sarah Earlabaugh
of Sparks, Okla; Sam Leak and family of Sprindale; Will Leak of Tulsa, Okla.;
Garland Leak and family, of Oklahoma City; Virgil Leak and wife, of Afton,
Okla.; Marion Leak and family of this place; Mrs. Ocie White of Tulsa. The
sisters, Mrs. Will Dibler of Sparks, Okla., and Mrs. George Davenport of
Denver, Colo., were unable to attend the funeral. Mrs. Marion Leak and twin
sons, Herbert and Hubert, were also unable to be present, due to serious
illness of Herbert. Relatives and friends present from a distance were Mrs.
Katie Beerman of Sparks, Okla.; Mrs. Ray Sigmon, Mrs. Jim Berry Sigmon, Mrs.
Beulah Gray and Theodore Presley, all of Tulsa; also a host of friends and
relatives from Springdale.
Aunt Mary was a sincere Christian woman, a devoted mother, a loyal friend
and was of a jolly nature. She was loved and repected by her many friends.
The beautiful floral offerings were tokens of esteem she and her children hold
among their fellowmen. Children; don't grieve too much, for you know "mother"
was lonesome without "daddy". They are now reunited in a land where we'll never

MARY SUSAN LEAK DIES
Funeral Services at Sprindale, Ark. for Tulsa Widow
Mrs. Mary Susan Leak, 78 years old died Tuesday of complications of old age at her home at 1223 North Lewis Avenue, where members of her family operated a grocery store.
The body was shipped to Springdale, Ark. by the Moores funeral home for funeral services and burial there Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Leak, a widow, is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Earlabaugh of Sparks, and Mrs. Lula White of the home address and by six sons: Henry of Christie, Sam of Springdale, Ark., Will of the home address, Garland of Oklahoma City, Virgil of Vinita, and Marion of Lowell, Ark.
GENERAL: Family has pension record and discharge papers from the civil war for
Benjamin Martin serving under a Capt. Stuart.
They show that he died on or before May 5, 1919. His occupation after
the civil war was a farmer. He was a private in company G of the 33rd Regiment
of the Mo. Infantry Volunteers from 1862 to 1865. In 1865 he was described as
21 years old, 5' 8", dark hair and eyes.DEATH PLACE: May be Lowell? AR? or Gravelle per family lore.
GENERAL: D. Lewis has copy of pension for May J. Martin widow of Benjamin C.
Martin. Was awarded a pension of 425 per month to commence May 5, 1919. Was
later shown to increase to $50 per month on Nov 5, 1926. Original papers in
hands of Shirley Tollison.
GENERAL: Died before Virginia Goodwin was born. She believed he died in
Louisiana. Names of children furnished from Virginia Goodwin. Virginia thought he may have had another wife.Census: 1870 shown as Farmer living in Cherokee County,TX. Wife Rebecca. He was 60 she was 37 Value of Real Estate was $1600, personal effects $500. Cannot read or write.

GENERAL: Virginia Goodwin Leak thought she might have died in Louisiana.
30. James H. Cates
GENERAL: Per Virginia Goodwin Leak, James H. Cates was probably born in Ark.
and was 84 when he died while sitting in his favorite chair during the middle
of the night. Was said to have fought in the Civil War at the Battle of
Prairie Grove in Ark. Was said to have been captured by the Confederates. The
approximation of birth and death dates comes from estimates from V. Leak. She
remembers him living with her parents at the time of his death, in Whitmeyer.
31. Levina Jane
GENERAL: From Virginia Goodwin Leak. She remembers Levina Jane dying while
she was a little girl, probably after James Cates death of @ 1918. She was
said to have died after a fall that broke her hip.
